At a recent planning committee the Swan Sanctuary in Felix Lane, Shepperton received good news when its application for a new education centre and second mobile home were finally approved.

Cllr Colin Strong (Lib Dem) said "Originally the planning committee turned down the plans so I raised this at the Council meeting in July 2007 asking committee members to reconsider. Now the plans have been granted I welcome the benefit that the education centre will bring."

Cllr Strong added "The new centre will make it easier for more residents to learn about the excellent work the Sanctuary does. We in Spelthorne are proud to have the Swan Sanctuary within our Borough."
