Spelthorne MP pockets extra cash from Hedge Funds and GB News

Kwasi Kwarteng - Out of touch

Being the worst Chancellor of the Exchequer ever has not stopped Spelthorne’s MP from cashing in on his celebrity.  An examination of the MP’s earning shows that he has earned more from TV and speaking engagements than his MP's salary.

Between April and October Kwasi Kwarteng was paid £15,000 by GB News – the place where several other washed up Tory politicians have ended up. He was paid a further £2,000 for giving his views to other right-wing outlets.

In addition to media earnings, he was paid over £35,000 for two speeches in Zurich and Dublin to investors and Fund Managers.  Obviously crashing the pound has not done him much damage with his Hedge Fund friends.

At the same time as generating cash from his hard-won celebrity, he has not made a single contribution in the House of Commons and has not been a member of any parliamentary Committees.

Now living in Greenwich, a minimum of 8 constituencies separate him from Spelthorne.  There is very little evidence of him doing anything much for the residents of Spelthorne.  You have to wonder what he is actually doing to justify his £86,000 salary.
