Spelthorne Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that Cllrs. Laura Barker and Chris Bateson have been selected as our candidates for Staines in the upcoming Unitary Authority elections which will be held in May 2026.

Chris is an experienced councillor and is currently the deputy leader of Spelthorne Council, he is well known for his deep commitment to residents. Chris has lived in Staines for decades and understands the issues our town faces. He has worked hard to fix many of them.

Laura was recently elected to represent Staines on the existing borough coucil after a sensational by-election victory in October. She has hit the ground running helping local residents and businesses and is already a well-known figure in Staines. She would be honoured to continue her work on the new Unitary Authority.

Laura and Chris are both committed to Staines and want the best for their local area. If you want committed local champions to represent you in Staines, vote for Laura and Chris on the 7th of May 2026.
