We need a new MP

For far too long the Conservatives have taken Spelthorne for granted.

Kwasi Kwarteng - Out of touch

Such is Conservatives contempt for residents that our current Tory MP, Kwasi Kwarteng, doesn’t even live anywhere near the constituency, let alone in it.  He lives in Greenwich on the other side of London.  Despite this the local Conservative Party have reselected Mr Kwarteng as their candidate for the 2024 election.  The Spelthorne Conservatives are as out of touch as he is.

Mr. Kwarteng promised constituents 15 years ago that if he was elected to represent the constituency he would move to Spelthorne. Yet another broken Tory promise.

What can Mr. Kwarteng know of the cares and concerns of his constituents when he lives so far away?  Mr. Kwarteng is completely out of touch with the people he should be representing in Parliament and it is time for him to be replaced by a local councillor with a track record of working for the community.  Harry Boparai, who moved to Spelthorne in 2006, knows and shares the concerns of his neighbours.

Harry said “Mr Kwarteng’s catastrophic handling of the economy, when Liz Truss foolishly gave her friend the keys to the treasury for just a few days in 2022, caused huge damage to the economy and made the country worse off.  After 14 years as the local MP he has done nothing of note to improve Spelthorne.  His national actions and local inaction mean that Spelthorne is no longer a safe seat for the Conservatives.

“Kwasi Kwarteng is out of touch with the residents of Spelthorne, and he should be out of Spelthorne too.  When I speak to residents they are consistently telling me that they want to get rid of Mr Kwarteng and replace him with someone who genuinely cares about this area.”

If anyone can, Harry can!
